My Sweet ColeyBug,
Today you are three. I had to bribe you awake with promises of tutus today… You are such a perfect blend of sugar and spice. The bearer of pigtails and tulle this morning, however I know you will end up with pockets full of “Poley Olies” and dirt everywhere when you get home this afternoon. You are becoming so independent and have such a funny little spirit. You remind me so much of your Aunt Shanon, which is awesome because she turned out pretty darn cool (however this has me VERY CONCERNED about your teenage years!)
The looks of indignant surprise you give me with those big beautiful eyes when you are trying to explain to me the REAL way things are is one of my favorites… I hope it is always this cute… for your sake. I do hope though that you grow of throwing yourself of the floor face down when you realize that your NOT going to change my mind.
I love how you are always trying to out-think your brother. He loves you very much and so when he shuts you out of his room, you must use your charms to get back in his good graces. You have it in you to get the best of him every time, I know it, so do cut him some slack every now and then.
I love your little songs… and how you serenade us on the way to school with repeats of “This is the Day” and “Jesus Loves Me” I hope you keep this cheer and happiness with you wherever you go.
And most of all…I love how you always call me your BEST friend. I hope you always feel this way, but know that I am here to be your mother too. I hope God gives me the wisdom to guide you in his ways and in his plan for you. I hope you grow up to say I did a good job.
